The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many changes in people's lives. There was a transition to some new ways of communicating, a change in the pace of life and adaptation to the newly created conditions. The purpose of the specialist final thesis is to study the concept of online trade, the development of online trade in the world and in Croatia with an emphasis on online trade during the COVID-19 pandemic. Online shopping is developing rapidly, and it is taking up an increasing percentage of the total trade of the economy, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic is ruling and affecting consumer habits around the world. The goal of this research was to investigate the specific attitudes and behavioral preferences of Croatian users in online shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to investigate which payment method Croatian users use when shopping online, and during the pandemic. It turned out that the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on consumer behavior in Croatia. A large number of respondents switched to online shopping during the pandemic, especially when it comes to buying food and clothes and shoes. Movement restrictions and the fear of contagion have encouraged people to turn to online stores to meet their needs. Among the respondents, different preferences were noticed when it comes to the way of shopping. Although the majority still prefers traditional (physical) stores, a significant percentage uses online shopping. Saving time, saving money and the fear of contracting the coronavirus were highlighted as the main reasons for choosing online shopping. The research findings pointed to changes in consumer habits that occurred during the pandemic, highlighting the importance of online presence and business adaptation to respond to changed consumer demands. Therefore, being proactive in providing quality services, fast delivery and attractive offers can be a key factor for success in today's dynamic and digital market.
