Sažetak | In this present world of globalization, i.e., the interconnectedness of people and organizations, both large and small companies are facing the ever-changing challenges of keeping the sustainable business to survive and make a profit, particularly in this current economic downturn circumstances. The higher the motivation, enthusiasm, and ambition of the employees, the higher the effort and performance will be, which is of exceptional importance for the sustainable growth and development of the company. In today's world, people are within a few remaining resources that can be constantly improved to achieve strategic goals. It is crucial to realize how and in what means the people involved in business operations are advantageous since the people employed are the most treasure strength. Because of already mentioned globalization and the shifts in the economy, diversity, and technology, new demands for organizations are created, which have driven the field in some entirely new directions. Nevertheless, there is a belief that these changes and challenges create numerous opportunities for human resource management and organizations as a whole. In order to ensure the smooth functioning of an organization, the manager of human resources must be aware that the people employed play a remarkable role in keeping a sustainable business. The purpose of this paper is to try to increase awareness and conscientiousness that the HR managers must have, as well as the willingness to invest in HRM. In this way, business performance will increase, and in the long run, the results and consequences will be more than satisfying.
