The big rise of digitalization in the world and the general rapid technological development, new digital currencies, called cryptocurrencies, appeared on the market. In 2009, the first cryptocurrency called Bitcoin, was developed. Since then Bitcoin has been followed by a large number of other cryptocurrencies, called Altcoins. Today, Bitcoin is considered the largest and leading cryptocurrency, based on the market capitalization of cryptocurrencies. Next to Bitcoin, the next largest cryptocurrency is Ethereum. Ethereum and Bitcoin differ in purpose and capabilities due to the fact that the Bitcoin blockchain is used to track ownership of digita lvalue, while Ethereum's focus is on developing a decentralized ecosystem. In this paper, cryptocurrencies Bitcoin and Ethereum were researched, and weather the variables: hashrate, dollar index, transaction volume and google trend have an influence on the value of Bitcoin and Ethereum. The performed regression analysis showed a direct influenceon the prices of the selected independent variables in the model for Ethereum. Analysis of Ethereum shows that 78.7% of the price of Ethereum depends on independent variables, and that 3 out of 4 independent variables have an impact on the value of Ethereum. The model for Bitcoin is not significant. It is interesting that the same independent variables were taken into account for both cryptocurrencies.
