Sažetak
In this master thesis it will be analyzed how much does investments in environmental sustainability affect tourism sector in the leading touristic company in Croatia called Valamar Riviera d.d. Analysis will be made in the period from 2015 till 2019, we cannot take in the account the year 2020 because of the COVID-19. Previously, importance of gaining competitive advantage among other companies will be explained and why are the green investments one of the most desirable investments these days. At the end of the master thesis, recommendations for touristic sector are provided in order to preserve natural environment as it is and to gain advantage in the sense of financial aspect and wider offer of services, while respecting the environment. Nature is main resource for attracting tourists in Croatia that is why environmental investments are in the main focus last couple of years. Also type of tourists changed through the years, more and more people search for intact nature, preserved cultural heritage and are more conscious about harmfulness of non-degradable substances that are being accumulated in the nature.
