More najučinkovitije metode za utvrđivanje optimalnog omjera zaštite, krucijalan je s obzirom na to da o njemu ovisi nastavak započete zaštite ili izmjena omjera zaštite kod pojedinog ekonomskog subjekta. Nadalje, nepostojanje striktno kvantificiranih kriterija za mjerenje učinkovitosti zaštite na globalnoj razini u praksi dovodi do povećanja rizika neusklađenosti s propisima (engl. compliance), dok u računovodstvenoj teoriji otvara prostor za brojne rasprave oko metoda mjerenja kojima bi se odredila učinkovita zaštita. U ovom radu oblikuje se zaokruženi optimalni model za mjerenje, odlučivanje i praćenje efikasnosti zaštite novčanih tijekova, koji udovoljava zahtjevima suvremenog računovodstva zaštite, putem kvantitativnih postupaka analiziranja metoda određivanja omjera zaštite i metoda mjerenja učinkovitosti zaštite. Model je oblikovan kombinacijom metoda simulacije, analize slučaja i analize učinaka uz primjenu ekonometrijskih postupaka. Materijali istraživanja predstavljaju cijene spot i futures pozicija za bakar, naftu, valutni par EUR/USD, EURIBOR i LIBOR, a koriste se podatci u šestogodišnjem razdoblju od 1.1.2007. do 30.06.2013. kao povijesni podatci za početno određivanje omjera zaštite. Nadalje, korišeni su podatci do 31.03.2014. za potrebe simulacije poslovnog procesa nakon započete zaštite (varijable su definirane oslanjajući se na prethodnu istraženost problematike kao razlike logaritama podataka, odnosno primijenjen je postupak diferenciranja). Uzeti su primjeri koji pokrivaju široko područje poslovanja, kako realne ekonomije tako i financijskog sektora. Za svaku skupinu podataka spota i futuresa provedena je početna analiza podataka: analizirani su maksimum, minimum, medijan, kvartili i očekivanje (srednja vrijednost); analiziran je histogram; analiziran je Q-Q graf; testirana je stacionarnost korištenjem ADF i KPSS testa te je testirana kointegriranost korištenjem Johansenovog testa. Nadalje, za utvrđivanje optimalnog omjera zaštite korištene su sljedeće kvantitativne metode: Metoda regresije najmanjeg kvadrata odstupanja (engl. OLS); Metoda bivarijatne vektorske autoregresije (engl. VAR); Metoda vektorske korekcije pogreške (engl. VECM). Pri utvrđivanju
efikasnosti zaštite primijenjene su sljedeće metode: Analize standardne devijacije i Analize koeficijenta varijacije. Rad doprinosi teoriji istraživanjem međuodnosa metoda određivanja omjera zaštite i metoda mjerenja učinkovitosti zaštite te dokazuje da se izostavljanjem međuodnosa pojedinih metoda ekonomski subjekt izlaže riziku postavljanja suboptimalnog omjera zaštite. Postavljanjem ovog inovativnog modela izbora odgovarajućih instrumenata zaštite novčanih tijekova, koji je u funkciji mjerenja, odlučivanja, praćenja i izvješćivanja o njihovoj učinkovitosti u različitim gospodarskim granama i uvjetima poslovanja, postižu se superiorni rezultati u odnosu na dosadašnje modele koji opisuju pojedine dijelove poslovnog procesa kao neovisne dijelove. ... More hedge accounting through time. Furthermore, the lack of strictly quantified criteria for hedge effectiveness measurement leads to a non-compliance risk increase. From a theoretical accounting perspective this broadens the discussions about hedge effectiveness measurement techniques. Thus, the aim of this thesis was to design a comprehensive and rounded optimal model for measurement, decision making and monitoring of the cash flow hedge effectiveness that meets modern hedge accounting requirements, by applying quantitative methods for hedge ratio estimation and hedge effectiveness measurement. The model was designed by combining simulation, case studies and effects analysis by using econometric methods. The inputs for the research were spot and futures for copper, oil, the currency pair EUR/USD, EURIBOR and LIBOR. The estimation of the optimal hedge ratio in the simulation contained data from a six-year period, beginning from 1st January 2007 to 30th June 2013. Extreme volatilities on the market were included in the data. Furthermore, in order to simulate three reporting periods after the inception of the hedging relationship, data up to 31th March 2014 was used. The variables were defined relying on previous reserches as differences of logarithms. Therefore, the process of differentiation was applied. The financial instruments used in the simulation covered a wide range of business conditions from the real economy and the financial sector. For each data set initial data analysis for spot and futures prices was performed: analysis of the maximum, minimum, median, quartiles and mean; analysis of the histogram; analysis of the Q-Q graph; stationarity test using the ADF and KPSS test statistics and cointegration using the Johansen test. To determine the optimal hedge ratio, the following quantitative methods were used: Ordinary Least Squares Regression Method (OLS); Bivariate Vector Autoregression Method (VAR); Vector Error-Correction Method (VECM). Furthermore, the following hedge effectiveness measurement methods were applied: Standard Deviation Analysis and Coefficient of Variation Analysis. The results of the research proved that the omission of consideration of the relationship between the hedge ratio estimation method and the hedge effectiveness measurement method rises the risk of estimating a suboptimal hedge ratio. In addition, superior results are achieved by applying this innovative model for setting an optimal cash flow hedging that incorporates the measurement, decision making, monitoring and reporting of the cash flow performance in a variety of industries and business conditions, which leads to the minimization of hedge ineffectiveness. Superior results are achieved compared to the previous models that describe the fragment parts of the business process separately, without taking into account the relation between the parts.
