Abstract
This bachelor thesis is written about the import procedure of a food product based on the international wholesale corporation METRO Cash & Carry LLC, and the emphasis is placed on the business process and communication between the METRO Cash & Carry company and its business partner "Vitaminka JSC Prilep", from whom the food product is imported. The main goal of this research is to explain the steps in the import process between two business entities and to present documentation required to achieve it, to give guidelines for improving the import procedure and explain the steps to implement them. Through the three-month thesis writing, it was essential to establish contact with the supply chain department of the METRO Cash & Carry company, from whom documentation was collected. Moreover, it was necessary to learn about international trade through books, scientific and working papers and publications, journal articles, as well as internet articles, and to study import processes, rules and regulations. Through this research, it became clear that studying the import process is important, as it is one of the factors that contributes to economic growth and development.
Abstract (croatian)
Završni rad pisan je o uvoznom postupku prehrambenog proizvoda na temelju međunarodne veleprodajne korporacije METRO Cash & Carry d.o.o., a naglasak je stavljen na poslovni proces i komunikaciju između METRO Cash & Carry kompanije te poslovnog partnera „Vitaminka JSC Prilep“, od kojega se uvozi prehrambeni proizvod. Temeljni cilj ovog istraživanja je objasniti korake u uvoznom procesu između dva poslovna subjekta, prikazati dokumentaciju neophodnu za ostvarenje istoga te dati smjernice za poboljšanje uvoznog postupka i objasniti način za implementiranje istih. Kroz tromjesečno pisanje rada, bilo je potrebno stupiti u kontakt sa supply chain odjelom kompanije METRO Cash & Carry, putem kojeg je prikupljena dokumentacija. Štoviše, bilo je potrebno učiti o međunarodnoj trgovini putem knjiga, znanstvenih radova, članaka iz časopisa i internetskih članaka, te istraživati o uvoznim procesima, pravilima i regulacijama. Ovim istraživanjem postalo je jasno da je proučavanje uvoznog procesa važno jer je jedan od čimbenika koji pridonosi gospodarskom rastu i razvoju.
