Abstract
Ovaj diplomski rad analizira ulogu automatizacije u kontejnerskim lukama, s fokusom na luke Rotterdam i Hamburg. U radu se spominju povijesni razvoj, izazovi i prednosti automatizacije te se kvantificiraju poboljšanja koja su rezultirala smanjenjem operativnih troškova i povećanjem produktivnosti. Automatizirani sustavi, poput automatiziranih vođenih vozila (AGV) i automatskih dizalica, značajno su unaprijedili učinkovitost procesa utovara i istovara, smanjili ljudske greške te poboljšali sigurnosne uvjete za radnike. Istraživanje također uključuje financijsku analizu prije i nakon uvođenja automatizacije u lukama, što potvrđuje hipotezu o pozitivnom utjecaju automatizacije na operativnu efikasnost. Uz studije slučaja luka Rotterdam i Hamburg, rad razmatra buduće trendove, uključujući integraciju s inovativnim tehnologijama poput umjetne inteligencije. Automatizacija je predstavljena kao ključni faktor koji omogućuje modernim lukama održavanje konkurentnosti u globalnom logističkom sustavu.
Abstract (english)
This thesis analyzes the role of automation in container ports, focusing on the ports of Rotterdam and Hamburg. The paper explores the historical development, challenges, and benefits of automation, quantifying improvements that have resulted in reduced operational costs and increased productivity. Automated systems, such as Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and automated cranes, have significantly enhanced the efficiency of loading and unloading processes, minimized human errors, and improved safety conditions for workers. The research also includes a detailed analysis of the financial impacts before and after the introduction of automation in ports, supporting the hypothesis of a positive effect of automation on operational efficiency. Through case studies of the ports of Rotterdam and Hamburg, the paper examines future trends, including the integration of innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence. Automation is presented as a key factor enabling modern ports to maintain competitiveness in the global logistics system.
