i prenaseljenost pojmovi su koji predstavljaju suvremene globalne ekološke probleme, a
ujedno i globalnu prijetnju za Planet Zemlju. Ekološki problemi, većinom nastali
antropogenim uzrocima, usko su povezani s drugim globalnim svjetskim problemima, te
međusobno utječu jedni na druge.

... More vlastitog bogatstva. Čovjek, ne samo da je dio globalnih
ekoloških problema, već je i njegov glavni uzrok. No, jedan od većih problema predstavlja
nedovoljna svijest o ozbiljnosti ovih problema.
Razlike između bogatih i siromašnih zemalja sve više dolaze do izražaja, a rezultat toga su i
sve veći negativni utjecaji na okoliš. Čelnici bogatih i siromašnih zemalja dijele različite
perspektive o prirodi ekoloških problema i često se ne slažu oko opasnosti koja bi mogla
proizaći iz ekoloških katastrofa. Nepismenost, siromaštvo, sukobi i glad ograničavaju
percepciju o ekološkim problemima u nerazvijenim zemljama, dok se u razvijenim zemljama
donose odluke koje utječu na javnost, bez odgovornosti prema ljudima i okolišu te se
favorizira industrija koja ne uvažava okolišne standarde.
Međunarodne konferencije o zaštiti okoliša uspijevaju na određeni način kontrolirati i
upravljati ekološkim problemima, no nedovoljno. Najveći razlog tome je što se ugovori o
zaštiti okoliša odnose samo na one države koje se slažu s istima. Nadalje, svaka zemlja ima
različita stajališta o pozornosti koju globalni ekološki problemi moraju dobiti u odnosu na
lokalne ekonomske i socijalne probleme, te u konačnici ne postoji međunarodna vlast koja
ima mogućnost provođenja sporazuma, već poštivanje odredbi ugovora ovisi samo o dobroj
volji država reguliranim ugovorima.
Neke države uspješno upravljaju globalnim problemima, druge pridonose njihovom rastu, a
neke su pasivne i ne djeluju ni u kojem smislu. No činjenica je da svaka regija, država, pa i
pojedinac mogu utjecati na reduciranje ekoloških problema. Less Abstract (english) Climate change, biodiversity loss, air pollution, deforestation, soil degradation and
overpopulation pose modern global environmental problems and simultaneously a global
threat to planet Earth. Ecological problems, mostly caused by anthropogenic causes, are
closely related to other global world problems and affect each other.

environmental problems, but they are also its main cause. But one of the major problems is
insufficient awareness of the severity of these problems.
Differences between rich and poor countries are increasingly coming to the fore, resulting in
increasing negative environmental impacts. Leaders of rich and poor countries share different
perspectives on the nature of environmental problems and often disagree on the dangers that
could arise from environmental disasters. Illiteracy, poverty, conflict and hunger limit
perceptions of environmental problems in poor countries, while in rich countries decisions
are made that affect the public, without responsibility to people and the environment, and
favour an industry that does not respect environmental standards.
International environmental conferences manage to control and manage environmental
problems in a certain way, but not enough. The biggest reason is that environmental treaties
apply only to those states that agree with them. Furthermore, each country has different views
on the attention that global environmental problems must receive in relation to local
economic and social problems, and ultimately there is no international authority that has the
ability to implement the agreement, but compliance with the provisions of the treaty depends
only on the goodwill of the states regulated by treaties.
Some countries successfully manage global problems, others contribute to their growth, and
some are passive and do not act in any sense. But the fact is that any region, state, even
