Abstract
U ovom diplomskom radu obrađeno je tržište kapitala u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama s utjecajem financijske i COVID-19 krize na poslovanje američkih burzi. Razradom teme objašnjena je značajnost burzovnog tržišta, povijesna i organizacijska struktura burze. Osim navedenog u ovom radu ukratko se opisuju burze prema predmetu burzovnog poslovanja te burzovni indeksi. Tržište kapitala u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama poznato je po dvjema najznačajnijim burzama, a to su New York Stock Exchange i National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quations, NASDAQ. Veliki utjecaj na cjelokupno gospodarstvo i tržište kapitala kao dio gospodarskih i ekonomskih aktivnosti imaju poremećaji na tržištu, zapravo financijske i gospodarske krize. Navedene krize predstavljaju temelj diplomskog rada te utjecaj financijske krize iz 2008. godine i COVID krize na poslovanje američkog tržišta kapitala. Financijska kriza iz 2008. godine započela je na američkom tlu, uzrokovana puknućem „balona“ cijena nekretnina. Nakon navedene financijske krize gospodarstva su se počela oporavljati, no iznenada se pojavila COVID kriza i pogodila svijet krajem 2019. godine. Analitički i praktični dio rada obuhvaća kretanje tržišne kapitalizacije i burzovnih indeksa. Tržišna kapitalizacija predstavlja ukupnu vrijednost izdanih dionica po trenutno važećim cijenama istih. Uz tržišnu kapitalizaciju kao pokazatelj važni su i burzovni indeksi te se u ovom radu promatraju Dow Jones Industrial Average, Standard and Poor’s 500 i Nasdaq Composite indeks.
Abstract (english)
This diploma thesis deals with the capital market in the United States of America with the impact of the financial and COVID-19 crisis on the operations of american stocks. The research explains the importance of stock market, historical and organizational structure of stocks. In addition,this diploma thesis explains classification of stocks exchange and stock indices. The capital market in United States of Americais well known with two stocks, New York Stock Exchange and National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quations, NASDAQ. Disturbances in the market, like financial and economic crises, have a great impact on the entire economy, including the capital market, as part of economic activities. This is the basis of the thesis and the impact of the financial crisis in the 2008 and the COVID crisis on the operations of the american stocks. The financial crisis in 2008 began in America caused by bursting the United States housing bubble. After financial crisis 2008, economy started to recover around the world, but suddenly COVID-19 crisis hit at the end 2019 year. The analytical and practical part of the paper covers the movement of market capitalization and stock exchange indices. Market capitalization as such represents the total value of issued shares at theis current prices. In addition to market capitalization, stock exchange indices are extremely important, witch in the case are Dow Jones Industrial Average, Standard and Poor’s 500 i Nasdaq Composite indices.
