Abstract
In this thesis the focus is given on determining the economic growth and development and analysis of its indicators of one of EU member country – Italy. The period for observation is from 2014 to 2019, in normal market situations, right before Covid-19 pandemic and crisis occurred. Economic growth is, by definition, an increase in the volume of produced goods within a country in a certain period of time. A more complex term, economic development implies economic growth, but with a more detailed analysis. Therefore, economic development is the process of using all available resources in order to achieve overall economic well-being and a high standard of living. The starting point for determining country’s growth is a gross domestic product (GDP) as a main indicator, while GDP per capita, poverty line and unemployment are the main indicators for economic development. As by its nature, economic development is more broader term than economic growth and that is the reason why it includes more indicators and has more importance for the economy. Moreover, not every growth is related to the economic development, sometimes it is possible to achieve growth in the country without any change in development at the same time.
