Abstract
Člankom 50. Ugovora o Europskoj uniji (TEU) omogućeno je državi članici da napusti EU ukoliko to želi. Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo je prva država koja je aktivirala ovu mogućnost nakon referenduma iz lipnja 2016. godine, a kako je ovo jedinstven slučaj, uslijedili su dugotrajni pregovori s Europskom unijom o budućim odnosima ovih ekonomija. Bez obzira na scenarij koji će biti dogovoren, učinci Brexita bit će vidljivi u svim dimenzijama života pa tako i u transportnom sektoru obaju strana. Istraživačkim se radom stoga proučavaju teorijski, znanstveni i povijesni okvir transporta u Europskoj uniji i Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu kao i potencijalni scenariji Brexita. Nadalje, analizira se transportni sektor obaju strana po pojedinim prometnim granama da bi se naposlijetku istražili učinci koje će Brexit imati na transportni sektor Europske unije i Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva kao i izazovi i perspektive budućih odnosa ovih ekonomija.
Abstract (english)
Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union (TEU) allows any member state to withdraw from the EU if it so wishes. The United Kingdom is the first country to activate this possibility after the referendum of June 2016, and since this is a unique case, lingering negotiations with the European Union on future relations of these economies have followed. Regardless of the scenario that will be agreed, the impact of Brexit will be visible in all dimensions of life including transport sector of both sides. Research paper therefore examines the theoretical, scientific and historical framework of transport in the European Union and the United Kingdom, as well as the potential Brexit scenarios. Furthermore, it analyzes transport sector of both sides through individual transport branches in order to finally explore the effects that Brexit will have on the transport sector of both the European Union and the United Kingdom as well as the challenges and perspectives of the future relations of these economies.
