The impact of digitalization and globalization has enabled the exponential growth of digital banking and financial services. Innovative solutions in the financial sector are primarily the result of Fintech, which has developed services based on machine learning, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technology. Fintech encompasses various applications of digital technology in finance, including cryptocurrencies and financial services that arise in the context of financial instruments, thereby fostering the development of alternative banking and financial solutions. The development and application of Fintech are also significantly visible in the Republic of Croatia, where digital banks like Revolut, regional leader FINAX Robo-advisors and local initiatives such as the Genius by InterCapital application and are increasingly being used. These technologies enable small investors to diversify their services, from investing in traditional assets such as stocks to digital assets like cryptocurrencies, while the implementation of blockchain technology through tokenization allows small investors access to diversified asset portfolios. Retail investors are offered more accessible, efficient and transparent financial services through Fintech, reducing barriers to entry and providing tools for better management of their investments.
