Abstract
For Croatia, tourism is a significant economic activity and Croatia is one of the most visited tourist destinations. The offer is based on the sea, sun and natural beauty while additional facilities are still underdeveloped. Representation of mountain tourism in Croatia is very small. Tourist arrivals in mountain resorts are not even 3% of the total realized tourist arrivals and overnight stays are less than 1%. Croatia has very good conditions for the development of mountain tourism, but it is still underdeveloped. Croatia should develop a strategy to engage with the tourists that visit the coastal towns to visit mountain areas as well.
