Abstract
IT industry in Croatia has seen tremendous growth in the recent times since the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 and it has also accelerated the much needed digital transformation. Because of the crisis and the unforeseen circumstances it brought on, the virtual environment became indispensable overnight, and all aspects of business had to be moved online. Business negotiations which are considered to be one of the oldest human activities had to be done online and were therefor impacted by the virtual environment and this thesis will analyze that scope of that impact. This thesis will define the theoretical aspect of business negotiations its strategies and the importance of verbal vs nonverbal communication, define virtual environment and its main advantages and disadvantages compared to real life, report on the IT industry in Croatia and the future market trends, the results of the research of the impact of virtual environment on successful business negotiations as well as suggest improvements for business negotiations based on the aforementioned research.
