The basic idea of this paper is to see how international trade actually works in the time of pandemic, in this case of COVID-19. How do individual countries react to this situation, what measures are they trying to protect themselves with and what effect does this have on the international trade. A comparison of the measures that some of the observed countries have opted for and their impact on trade is an ideal indicator of how well are they responding to the new situation. Various areas related to trade are affected by virus protection measures and although there is a difference in the severity oh the consequences they feel, they are all to some extent damaged by the new situation. Areas related to trade that will be considered in this paper are: trade in medical goods, tourism and travel-related services, distribution services, online sales, telecommunications, informatics and communication technology (ICT) and audiovisual and air, land and sea transport services. Online sales is one of those branches for which we can say that COVID-19 virus has contributed to its growth, also more and more importance is attached to the accelerated continuous trend of sales through Internet channels. Export controls and bans (on critical medical supplies) imposed by some of the countries to ensure a sufficient amount for the citizens of their countries will also be considered. The negative effects of these controls and bans will be discussed, and some of the countries which introduce them will be listed. Significant risks of export restrictions can lead to high risks for both exporters and importers, and there is a risk of deterionation in the supply of medical goods if there is a trend of controls and bans between countries.
